Vienna, Virginia – September 29, 2010, Paragon Technology Group Inc. (Paragon) announced the award of a contract to provide program management support to support DLA's Common Food Management System (CFMS) program office in successfully merging a commercial food management system with a government ordering system and fielding that to all military dining facilities worldwide. Today, DLA provides Class I supply support to over 500 military locations with over 1,600 dining facilities via a custom designed software application that interfaces with the Military Services' various food management systems. The current support is equivalent to the wholesale segment of the Class I supply chain. CFMS will add the retail support segment of the Class I mission, currently performed by multiple, separate systems for each Service, by incorporating a new system to be used by all Services, based on a commercial off the shelf food management system with software extensions to accommodate DoD and military unique requirements. The new system will be fielded to all of the military locations supported by DLA's current system, plus ships and submarines.
